1. My Husband by Maud Ventura (psychological literature)
5 stars
The inner monologue of this wife who is completely sick with obsession and thinking people are out to get her. You wouldn’t believe what she puts in her notebooks and the actions that come out of them. You better not cross her such as taking your hand away to answer a text or that’s an attack on her. Finished it in a single sitting.
2. The Highly Sensitive Person’s Guide to Dealing with Toxic People by Shahida Arabi, MA (nonfiction psychology)
5+ stars
Eye opening, terrifying, nerve wracking, disbelief, empowering, confidence, and love. The different levels from benign to narcissists to full on sociopaths. What to look out for and how to safely exit from their lives. How toxic people retaliate and spread smear campaigns, abandon loved ones during important life moments, silencing their victims, stalking, and sabotaging. Teaches you how to use your sensitivity as a strength and light in the world instead of a weakness. You’ll end the book feeling confident and well equipped.
3. Cultish by Amanda Montell (nonfiction research)
5 stars
The ins and outs of all the types of cults in our world. From religious cults to multi marketing scheme cults to work out cults. A deep dive into the science and psychology behind them.
4. It’s Me Charlie by C.M. Guidroz (extreme horror short story)
A psychotic catfishing stalker. A man is obsessed with a woman on TikTok. He’s getting his life together and will live all his dreams. Extreme. It made me physically gag.

5. This is Where We Talk Things Out by Caitlin Marceau (horror novella)
Packs a punch in a short book. Madness. A girl who cut her Mom off is pulled back in when her Mom contacts her using fake numbers and going to her place of work for information about her all for the sake of love. The twists. Obsession. Sick.
6. Full Brutal by Kristopher Triana (extreme horror)
5 stars
Such a fun book! Well, if you like extreme splatterpunk, gruesome, horrifying, gory, descriptive details. A book full of mayhem and female rage. A young highschool girl goes on a rampage to satisfy her urges and hunger.
7. The Butterfly Garden by Dot Hutchison (horror)
5 stars
Page turning, edge of your seat, disgusting, depraved, effed up horror. A man captures girls and tattoos enormous butterfly wings on their backs and on their 21st birthday, he encases them in resin like one would display a butterfly in a shadow box. Contains a lot of sensitive subject matter.
8. Rabbit Hunt by Wrath James White (extreme horror)
5 stars
A group of black fraternity brothers join up 10 years later to relive one of their most relished, depraved activities from back in the day. They plan to hunt ‘rabbits’. Tackles issues of race, prejudices, obsession, evilness, letting go, and unbelievable terror. One of the most gory books I’ve ever read. Finished it in a day. Extreme!
With all my book recommendations, please check any trigger warnings if you need to. Some of these books are extreme! Even the books that aren’t marked extreme can still contain material some readers wouldn’t want to experience. Thank you so much for reading my blog!
