The image I used to draw from came from a freeze shot of a video my partner took of me dancing around in New Orleans. We were celebrating our 10 year anniversary and getting ready to go out for the day. 

This piece represents everything I’ve been through and who I am today. This day wasn’t long after the darkest period in my life. I was self-conscious, had zero confidence, and the weight of everything nearly suffocated me. This is the moment I realized I had healed. I felt the sunshine again. I was on the path to loving myself. This shows when the freedom and the light finally enter your soul so deeply and authentically, it shines for the rest of the world to see.
